    Question

I am not sure because I am not clear as to what you are asking.

Well, we can all develop an ethics code after we get what we want out of life...(Dr. Laura), but what about all the selfishness before we get what we want out of life.

Isn't that the real test when it comes to ethics?

Ethics always matter. Do you live by your beliefs or not? If not, you don't believe in what you profess.

    Take Dr. Laura...

She may be the most ethically devout person on the planet.

In her teens and twenties, she was the opposite, she was basically a self-absorbed part-time skank. (don't know for sure, but it seems like it)

Perhaps Dr. Laura would have never gone as far in her career if she had practiced the very ethics she preaches to her listeners.

Now she has it all, she benefited from her skankiness in her youth, and now she makes gobs of money demanding youth not do what she did.

The only way Dr. Laura could ever make it up would be to share her media access with those who try to have ethics every step of the way.

Instead, Dr. Laura becomes a roadblock to the success of others because she herself is so successful, yet she became successful because doors were opened when she was younger that may have remained closed if she had followed her own strict ethical code back when she was growing up.

So ethics, in the truest zen of the word, matter most, when you have the least, unless you want to be famous.

Good and Evil is irrelevant to this discussion.

Ethics are more about not cheating, not cutting in line, waiting your turn knowing that you may not get a turn because you waited your turn.
